Job Description

ICTS-TIFR invites applications for the ICTS – S. N. Bhatt Memorial Excellence Fellowship Program 2027, a summer research programme that typically runs from the middle of May to the middle of July.

Selected candidates are provided stipends and accommodation during the programme.

Research areas:
• Physical and natural sciences: Astrophysics and Relativity; Biological Physics; Statistical Physics and Condensed Matter; Fluid Dynamics and Turbulence; String Theory and Quantum Gravity
• Mathematical sciences: Applied and Computational Mathematics; Computer Science; Algebra, Geometry and Physical Mathematics; Probability Theory

How to apply: choose an area and topic that fits your coursework, prepare your CV and academic details, give the details of at least two referees and submit the online application before the deadline (offline instructions are available on the official page for those without internet access).

Qualifications

• Undergraduate science, mathematics or engineering students who will have finished their third or fourth year by May 2027
• Exceptional undergraduates who will have finished their second year by May 2027
• Master's students who are not in their final year by May 2027 (as per the 29.10.2026 clarification)
• Indian and foreign nationals may apply
