Job Description

Latest Bioinformatics Jobs: Research Opportunity at Institut Curie

Institut Curie is offering a bioinformatics research opportunity within its Chemical Biology of Cancer Unit, specifically the “Stress and Cancer” Laboratory, directed by Fatima Mechta-Grigoriou.

The position is associated with the ARTURO project, funded by the European Commission under the Horizon Europe Cancer Mission 2023 programme. The project involves international collaboration between Institut Curie and research and clinical institutions in France, Portugal and Italy.

The ARTURO project investigates how the intratumoral microbiome and bacterial metabolites influence the tumour microenvironment and responses to anticancer treatments, particularly immunotherapy. Research focuses on non-small cell lung cancer and invasive lobular breast cancer, using an innovative 3D tumour-on-chip model that integrates clinical data and multi-omics analyses.

This opportunity is relevant to candidates searching for the latest bioinformatics jobs involving RNA-Seq, single-cell RNA sequencing, spatial transcriptomics, computational biology and cancer research.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform bioinformatics analyses of transcriptomics data, including bulk RNA-Seq, transcriptomic deconvolution, single-cell RNA-Seq (scRNA-Seq) and Visium HD spatial transcriptomics.
  • Work closely with experimental scientists generating the research data.
  • Conduct scientific and technological monitoring relevant to the ARTURO project.
  • Communicate analytical findings through research meetings, written reports and scientific publications.

Qualifications

  • A Master’s degree or PhD in bioinformatics or a related field.
  • Previous experience analysing sequencing data, particularly bulk RNA-Seq, single-cell RNA-Seq and/or spatial transcriptomics.
  • Developing a PhD project on this research topic is an available opportunity, according to the vacancy announcement.
