Job Description
IISER Tirupati invites applications for the post of Project Associate I / Junior Research Fellow (Advt. No. 91/2026, dated 27.10.2026; Post Code 30325207) on a purely contractual basis.
Project: "Enhancing regeneration and editing efficiency in groundnut and pigeonpea for trait improvement" – generating transgenic groundnut lines through genome editing for trait improvement.
Funding agency: Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India
Principal Investigator: Dr. Swarup Roy Choudhury
Number of posts: 1 (may vary as per Institute requirements)
Emoluments (per month, plus 10% HRA):
• Rs 37,000 for candidates with a valid CSIR/UGC-JRF, NET, GATE or other qualifying national-level test
• Rs 30,000 for other candidates
Tenure: initially six months; temporary and co-terminus with the project.

Qualifications
- Essential:
- M.Sc. in Botany, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Agricultural Sciences or Plant Sciences, or equivalent
- Indian nationals
- Desirable:
- About two years of experience in plant tissue culture and plant molecular biology
- Age limit: not more than 30 years as on the closing date
