Applications are invited online for a temporary assignment in a time-bound research project in the Department of Medical Science and Technology, IIT Kharagpur (Advertisement No. IIT/SRIC/R/OIG/2026/101, dated 29.10.2026).

Project: Machine-Learning Enabled Multi-Omics Integration to Differentiate between Lymph Node Tuberculosis (LNTB) and Sarcoidosis: Two granulomatous diseases with similar clinical manifestations (Project Code R/OIG)
PI/Co-PI: Prof./Dr. Koel Chaudhury
Sponsoring agency: Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)
Consolidated compensation: up to Rs 56,000 per month depending on qualification and experience, plus HRA as admissible

The engagement is initially up to one year, extendable up to three years subject to requirement and performance review (in exceptional cases up to five years with approval of DG, ICMR). Engagements cease automatically if not extended within the tenure; no retrospective extension is allowed. Tenure: 36 months or the end of the project, whichever is earlier.
The qualifications and experience are minimum requirements; meeting them does not entitle a candidate to an interview. Age is counted as on the last date of the advertisement.
Qualifications
- Essential:
- Post Graduate degree, including integrated PG degrees
- For Engineering / IT / CS: four-year graduate degree
- Desired experience:
- Minimum 1 year of research experience in respiratory health and machine learning, with publications in the area
- Age limit: 40 years (relaxation up to 5 years for candidates with experience in a Government Research Organisation, case to case)
