Job Description

BRIC-RGCB invites applications from early-career Indian scientists with outstanding credentials to set up independent, multidisciplinary research programmes (Rolling Faculty Advertisement No. RGCB/Advt./Sci/01/2026, dated 01.09.2026). Applications are accepted throughout the year and evaluated quarterly; the last date for this quarter is 30 November 2026.

Vacancies:
• Scientist C – 4 posts (UR-1, OBC-2, SC-1), Pay Level 11, age limit 35, relevant post-doctoral experience with peer-reviewed publications as first and co-author
• Scientist E-II – 2 posts (UR-1, SC-1), Pay Level 13, age limit 45, five years of post-doctoral experience with peer-reviewed publications
• Scientist F – 2 posts (UR-1, OBC-1), Pay Level 13A, age limit 50, eight years of post-doctoral experience with peer-reviewed publications

Corrigendum: for Scientist E-II and F, publications as first, corresponding or co-author are accepted, contributions to large multi-author publications are considered, and leadership of research groups is considered for Scientist F. Product-development scientists need a strong record of technology development, patents and commercialisation.

Research areas of interest include (not exhaustive): cell engineering for affordable disease treatment; molecular diagnostics and nano-biotechnology for cancer care; therapeutic target discovery and drug delivery; vaccines, cell therapy and immunotherapeutics; bio-therapeutics and drug-antibody conjugates; diagnostic devices, biosensors and preventive healthcare; cardiovascular disease and diabetes biology; plant biotechnology including spice genomics and medicinal plants; cancer genomics; pathogen biology and host-pathogen interactions; neurobiology and neural stem cells; regenerative medicine and tissue engineering.

Qualifications

• MD, PhD or equivalent (all posts)
• Post-doctoral experience and publications as listed for each grade
• Indian citizens only
• Age as on the last date of receipt of applications; relaxation may be considered for outstanding candidates or those holding analogous posts in government research institutions
• Valid OBC (non-creamy layer), SC/ST or EWS certificate for reserved posts
• Government/PSU employees must apply through proper channel or provide an NOC at interview
