Job Description

BRIC-Rajiv Gandhi Centre for Biotechnology (RGCB), Thiruvananthapuram, invites online applications for one temporary post of Research Associate-I (Adv. 20/2026, dated 29.10.2026).

Project: "Human Brain Organoids in space as a transformative model to understand Neurodegeneration" – funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT).
Principal Investigator: Dr. Karthika Rajeeve, Scientist E-I.

Number of posts: 1
Emoluments: Rs 58,000 per month plus 18% HRA.
Tenure: initially two years or until the end of the project, whichever is earlier. The post is co-terminus with the project and gives no claim to a future post at RGCB.

Qualifications

• Essential:
• Ph.D. in Biotechnology
• Indian citizen
• Desirable:
• Research experience in human cell culture, molecular and cellular biology and disease-relevant in-vitro models
• 3D culture and organoid biology; stem cell or iPSC-based models
• Bioengineering, advanced imaging, experimental design, quantitative data analysis and scientific writing
• At least one first-author peer-reviewed publication
• Age limit: 40 years as on 16 November 2026 (relaxation as per Government of India norms)
